The approach of a hurricane is not the best time to discover that your home may not be adequately covered and once a tropical storm or hurricane watch or warning has been issued, insurance companies will not allow homeowners to obtain new or additional insurance coverage. Be informed of what your getting as a payout from your carrier before agreeing on a settlement.

Even a small grease fire is a fire worth thousands. No fire is to small or to big! Fire damages can be very dangerous and should be looked into immediately. Do you have the correct coverage in case of a total loss?

If your home or business has been broken into or burglarized you may be able to recover your loss from your insurance provider.

Have you seen hollow tiles, cracked tiles, or cracks on the exterior walls, these can all qualify as causes from sinkholes and you have only 14 days to report these damage to your carrier.

Homeowners insurance usually covers mold damage that is caused by a “covered peril.” Like roof leak or plumbing leak etc. Insurance companies also have a limit on your policy for this coverage.

Flood is not an automatic coverage and to qualify for disaster assistance the president must declare a natural disaster. This coverage will protect your home in case of flooding. Make sure you have the right coverage because Federal assistance is a loan not a grant.

If your vehicle is left for service or at a parking garage and suffers damages the vehicle is in the care custody and control of that establishment and they may be responsible for the loss suffered.
